FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Rocky Mountain News InterviewJune 27 -- Mark Wolf from the rocky Mountain News interviews Bob. Thanks to Lynne O'Connor who brought Bob's experiences to Mark's attention. Another example of what a real community is all about. Thanks Lynne.
College RegistrationTo Fort Collins in June and AugustJune 16-17 -- We go to CSU for a couple of days and Bob gets to spend some time on campus and see what college life is like. We will try the food and see dorm rooms. He also has 3 placement tests that he really isn't looking forward to the tests. Watch for updates on this trip. Update: We had a great trip to CSU for the preview. Kevin Davis joined us and we met David Shaffer there. I had fun talking to Dick and Nancy Shaffer, they were a wealth of knowledge. Bob did well on his placement tests and will take about 18 credit hours the first semester. We ate meals in 2 different dining halls and the food was really pretty good and there was plenty. Parents can drop in for a free meal anytime as long as they have a student register at the school, so Bob might get his Dad for a few lunches in the future. I want to thank Mike and Debbie Stradt for giving us a place to stay and for dinner on Friday, thanks, it was excellent. August 18th is the first day for Bob at CSU, so watch for updates.
Graduation 2005Bob's graduation and party! The Party is over and School is right around the corner-- A special thanks to the Koenig's and Koop's for putting on a great celebration. The pig was fabulous and the Mon-tee Python skit was absolutely hilarious. Tanks to everyone who attended to make this a great celebration. Thanks also to all the family members who traveled from afar to attended. June 4, 2005 -- The graduation ceremonies start at 10:00 a.m. in the football stadium at Summit High School, 16201 Highway 9 at Farmer's Corner. Rumor is they graduate them from the shortest to the tallest and if that is the case then we will be there a while. Watch for the announcement in the mail and/or you will get a phone call. The graduation party will be the KKK party at the Koenig's home in Silverthorne. It is the KKK party because Bob Koch, Charles Koenig and John Koop have had their lockers together and been great friends since about 6th grade. Their friend "Peaches" will be stopping by and he is the 4th K. His locker is next to Bob's, because his name is Charles Keeling. What a coincidence!
ScholarshipsThe community assistsApril 26, 2005 -- This year the community handed our over quarter of a million to the students of Summit High School. Bob feels very fortunate, and additionally thanks to all the organizations which have helped him accomplish his goal of CSU this fall. His mother and I were also very proud of him and how the community perceives his great volunteerism. He did say that he is ready for High School to be finished and can't wait to get to college, and I guess I can't blame him. Watch for more!!!
